PhD in Indigenous, Race, and Ethnic Studies at the University of Oregon

I began my doctorate in Indigenous, Race, and Ethnic Studies’ inaugural cohort in 2021 while concluding my environmental studies master's degree at the University of Oregon. Through critical autotheory and art practice, I explore emotional decolonial healing and Indigenous trauma theory as a conceptual framework to understand how coloniality in Guyana requires embodied and ecological erosion. I explore how art-making manifests outlets for emotional and environmental elasticity, extending from our bodies to the soil.
